Donatella Agius was born in Malta and is a mother of three children. She studied medicine and surgery at the University of Malta where she was awarded an MD in 2010. She then started practicing medicine at Mater Dei Hospital, Malta and eventually started her psychiatry training at Mount Carmel Hospital, Malta in 2013. She completed her training in psychiatry in 2018 and since then she has been the responsible psychiatrist of patients suffering from eating disorders in Dar Kenn ghal Sahhtek, Malta. She is currently working as a Consultant Psychiatrist with special interest in community psychiatry and eating disorders in the mental health services of Malta. She is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta and Barts and Queen Mary Medical School Gozo.
